- Information for Ormus and Louisa and family are taken from the family Bible of Ormus Bates Nay, St. George temple records, and family group records of Doris Elizabeth Nay Whitney. Neva North was his second wife, first wife unknown, could be "Kate," also married a third time according to records of Wanda C. Nay. Obit:"Funeral services have been set for 1 p.m. Dec 26 at Bunker Brothers Chapel for Chauncey L. Nay, a pioneer teamster in Southern Nevada who died. Nay was born at Circleville, Utah and moved to Southern Nevada with his parents where they settled about 1900 in what is now known as the Whitney Ranch near St. Thomas in the Bunkerville Mountains. "Chan" owned a string of saddle horses like most typical Westerners. One year Nay drove a ten horse team hauling copper ore out of Arizona's Grand Gulch mine to the Moapa Valley. Nay quit the freight road and came to Las Vegas to enlist, but was turned down by the draft board which sent him back to the freight road as a critical employee for scarce metals. After being released from his job Nay joined the army and served until the end of the war. According th Nay's family, he probably covered more ground than many other men as a a cowhand and teamster in Nevada, Arizona and Utah. Nay worked with Clark County Highway Department until his retirement." (Las Vegas Review Journal Fri. 21 Dec. 1973)
