Written History of Ralph Emanuel Whitney
I have a lot of good memories of my parents, but it’s hard to put them into words.
The main thing I remember is they seemed to have a lot of patience with us children. They also did a lot of things with us. Some of the things I liked was they would take us to Lake Mead to swim and to Mt. Charleston to hike. Dad didn’t care to swim much or wasn’t much for hiking, but he still took us and was always a good sport about things. Dad also played games with us such as tin can hockey and kick-the-can and softball.
I like my father’s honesty and sense of fairness. He always seemed to treat us children with respect and consideration. It seemed to me that he was genuine in all things.
I feel a lot of love toward my father and mother but it’s hard to put in writing.
